Memorial Weekend!

This weekend was a lot of fun!
I mean three day weekends are always great!
We went on a 8 mile bike ride on trails by our house.
We watched Hang over 2 and laughed our butts off.
On Sunday I went on a shopping spree for some new summer clothes.
Always a plus... YAY!
I also went to see Lost in Paris with Megan and Hanah.
We danced and sang all night long!
It was a lot of fun!
If you are wondering who they are... They are a fun cover band!
They are usually in the NJ,PA,DC,MD,and VA area.
Check them out!
Hector and I also we to the pool this weekend...
Tanning is also a plus... No longer pale!
Monday evening we went to Ikea and then saw Kung fu panda 2.
It was really cute...
If you liked the first one you will like this one!
Ahh I can't believe summer is almost here!

Field Day

Yesterday was field day at my school.
It was somewhat organized and kids loved it!
Ms. Antunez did not like being in the sun for almost two hours!
Who didn't put on any sunscreen?
ME!
Not a good idea!
The kids played tug-of-war and a bunch of other things.
I am so glad that Megan and I brought them all waters because they would have been extremely dehydrated!
This would have caused grumpiness and lots of fights!
There were definitely some kids who should of stayed in because of their behaviors.
After field day we were all exhausted and ready for bed!
I came home and watched some TV.
I also cooked dinner for us and the Lucas!
What to do on this wonderful three day weekend????
Ideas?

Wine in the woods

Yesterday Hector and I went to Wine in the Woods with family and friends.
It was a lot busier then we expected!
If you ever go, buy your tickets in advance or bring cash to get in quicker!
We waited in a line forever but then decided to get cash at the ATM.
Once we were in we were shocked by how many people were in.
People had already claimed their picnic areas and had bought bottles of wine to drink.
The first tent we went to was packed so we moved to the next one.
The wine was okay but not good enough to buy a bottle.
Although Doris bought a yummy dessert wine.
We continued on to the next tent.
We ended up buying a bottle of sangria at the Boordy vineyard and found a place to sit and relax.
Megan and Danny got a peach wine and that too was yummy!
We added grapes and strawberries to our wine.
I later decided to go get a slice of pizza and met people who let me drink from their wine.
Strange? I know but at least I got to try another wine!
After about an hour we continued to taste wines.
We came up to a vineyard named Solomon island vineyard...
Boy were their wines fruity and very tasty!
I want to go visit it.
There were a lot of wines to taste...
We tried as many as we could but then got really tired and came home.
We had a lot of fun!
Can't wait to go back next year!

Here's some pictures:

1000!!!!!

1000 blog views!!
WOW!
Now if I can only get more followers!

Teacher of the week?

This was a big surprise to me...
Apparently I was doing my job well?
Haha!
As most of you know this year has been a rough year.
There have been days that I've wanted to quit because the kids didn't seem to want to learn anything.
It was as if I was just babysitting.
There are days that I am not sure if my students are learning any of my objectives...
but I don't give up and just keep going.
I feel like this school year I am always on the go!
There is no time to stop...
GO GO GO!
I still can't believe that I got teacher of the week...
It's only been two weeks since this started at my school.
Some how I was doing the right thing.
I don't believe that I am an amazing teacher...
There are still a lot of things I need to learn.
There are many teachers at my school who are awesome and deserve being teacher of the week!
They work really hard and always finding new ways to teach our students.
On the upside...
I got to leave school early today.
Always a plus to beat the traffic!

My Husband can put together a computer... Can yours?

My husband is soooooo smart!
He bought computer parts this past week and put his computer together!
He needed a new and fast computer to animate at home.
Our last computer was to slow!
Gotta love a handy man!

UniverSoul Circus

Today my school took some of our students to a circus that was in town.
It was rather different...
Lets just say they danced the soul train!
Don't get me wrong... I enjoyed taking my students there.
It was just strange!
They loved dancing to the music and SCREAMING!
There were dogs doing tricks.
Elephants and tigers.
One of my students actually asked me " Is that LSU Mike the tiger? "
I said "No, He's at LSU"
She then replied with " Oh man, I really wanted to meet him!"
Geaux Tigers!
Did I mention...
LOTS OF DANCING!?!

Again it was very different... but all that matters is that the kids enjoyed it!

ZUMBA!

Hector has been very active with soccer and Krav Maga.
I decided it was my time to get back into shape.
I've tried running...
but it's been really hard getting back to doing that.
It's been raining so much.. therefore riding my bike is not always ideal.
I had been looking for Zumba for a very long time.
I finally found a place here in Columbia that gives Zumba classes!
I started taking class four weeks ago and loved it!
Its a combination of Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Hip-hop, and African music.
It's a great way to have fun and work out at the same time!

Caffine free!

I am caffeine free since Friday!
For those of you who know me best, I drink a lot of coke!
At least 2 a day!
A week ago I got my second kidney infection and decided to change my diet.
I am only allowing myself to drink one coke a week.
If I ever need a coffee... I get the smallest one.
I tend to have caffeine headaches so having tea or coffee is the cure.
They have less sugar and less caffeine.
Or so I think?
Ha.
I've been drinking lots of water and staying nice and quench!
Wish me luck!
I hope I can do it!
If you see me drinking a coke... stop me!

I'll shower you with gifts...

Today Hector and I went to Natalie and Justin's baby shower.
We decorated burp cloths.
Mine said...
I love you mommy!
I love you daddy!

There was yummy food and drinks.
They opened gifts.
We had fun talking about babies and of course teaching!
There were lots of teachers.
It was nice to see an old friend!
This definitely gets me excited to one day have one of my own!

After the baby shower we met up with Megan and Danny Lucas.
We had dinner at Donna's.
Donna is a great Italian restaurant here in Columbia, MD.
There was a jazz band playing while we ate.
We had a great time.

So Megan and I don't have the same taste in food..
but somehow we always coordinate.
But tonight we did a little more then coordinate.
We wore the same print!
HAHA!
I love her!
Hector and I had a great day today!

Pinback and Judgement Day

This weekend Hector and I went to go see a band that he has loved for some time.
The name of the group we went to go watch was Pinback.
Pinback is an indie group from California.
They were really fun to watch!
I also did some people watching...
One girl was going so nuts she had to be escorted out because they thought she was intoxicated.
She was a minor.
Either way they were good.
If only I had felt better so that I could have fully enjoyed them.
I was coughing my brains out the entire time!

Here's a link of Hectors favorite song.
Enjoy!

Penelope

Right before the group came on we saw a band named Judgement Day.
Now you had to be there to understand this group.
They are a heavy metal string band...
Sound strange?
I was very shocked when I found out!
The instruments consist of a cello, violinist, and a drum.
Crazy?
I know it sounds nuts but man they were so good!
The drum set did not look like a normal drum set.
The drum had a pail that was upside down that make some cool sounds.
The drummer also had two sets of drum sticks for different sound effects.
They were pretty amazing!
While they were playing they also had a screen playing video.
At one point they showed two kids opening a present.
Wrapped up was a Violin Hero ---> Guitar Hero.
They then played along and it was crazy to watch.
Here's a link of a music video.
Be ready to be amazed!

Judgement day

My Tree Project!

I've always loved taking pictures and drawing trees because of how unique each tree is.
Ever since the weather started to get warmer I became very curious about how trees go from being bare to full of leaves.
I was began to see that some trees were growing buds and flowers.
Others were very bare.
I started asking everyone if all trees grew flowers and most people were unsure.
That's when I decided to create a project to see if all trees grew flowers.
I decided that I would take a picture every day to see the trees transform.
I tried my best to take a picture as often as I could.
I picked two different trees and watched them bloom!
I started my project on March 19th.
This is what I captured...

Tree number 1...
This tree had flowers growing.

I took many pictures where the tree had red flowers...
Look at what happened next.

It went from red to yellow!

It got greener!

Look it's completely green!! This was so much fun!

Tree number 2...
This tree was completely bare. The leaves that you see in the background are from another smaller tree behind it.

Still bare...What do you notice in the following picture?!?!?!

You had to look closely to see the little leaves growing!

A week later ...
I am still watching this tree bloom because it's not completely full. I hope to post the pictures soon!

I won't be taking pictures all summer but I will continue to take pictures this fall so I can capture the leaves change colors.

Hope you enjoyed!
